Addie's Walking!!

Addie is walking!!  The video shows her longest trip across the den yet.  We are very proud of her and excited about her new changes.  She has also started jabbering and babbling a lot lately.  She says "jabba, jabba, jabba and thub, thub, thub."  We will try to get her on video talking but as soon as she sees the camera or laptop, she turns off the babbling.  We will be home for Christmas soon and can't wait to see family and friends.  Merry Christmas!!

Birthday Party #3

PARADE DAY!!  Many of you may not know that Addie was born on the night of the Christmas Parade last year, so naturally we had a birthday party here in MS for her on the night of the parade again.  The parade is no ordinary parade here in Greenwood...Businesses close, schools have the mysterious "teach work day," and Brad gets off at lunch.  It's a HUGE deal, it's a lot of fun, and it ends with fireworks.
I made Addie's birthday cake, and even though it resembled a lady's crocheted lap blanket, I was proud of it.  We had a wonderful party with lots of friends and taco soup.  YUMM!  Thanks to everyone who came and helped us celebrate for the final time!  And let me say, I enjoyed hearing the fireworks much better from my house than from the labor room if you get my point.

Birthday Party #2

Surprise!  Another Party!!  This time, the party was at the Moreman's, and we tried the cake for a second time (no need for it to go to waste).  Addie did dig into it a little bit, and Brad was able to feed her quite a bit later in the day.  Addie helped her Papa clean up after the party by holding the dishwasher down.  Afterward, her Daddy rewarded her with a ride around the living room.
On a side note, Brad decided to make green eggs and ham for breakfast as you can see.  And I don't care what anyone says - they do not taste the same.

Birthday Party #1

Addie turned ONE YEAR OLD on Sunday, November 30th.  She had no idea of the surprises in store for her.  We traveled to Alabama for the Thanksgiving holiday and to celebrate two birthdays - Addie's and our nephew Brandon's.  Aunt Ladetra worked so hard and made a CareBear Cake for Addie to demolish.  But sorry, Addie stuck one finger in it and was totally grossed out by the mess.  This would be the first celebration followed by a couple others.
Thanksgiving was great!  The food was amazing and so was the company - thanks for hosting Kurt and Ladetra!

Prayer Works

Addie is finally using a Sippee Cup; however, the only one she will use is not Spill=Proof and the other day she took the top off and handed the cup to me.  As you will also see, Addie was eating REAL food.  As her birthday approaches so does the fact that she will soon need to be dependent on table food instead of formula.  This fact makes me very anxious because Addie loves her formula and does not eat much table food at all.  I had Bible Study yesterday, and my friend, Bea, prayed that Addie would have an appetite.  So, at dinner last night, Brad put several things on her tray and SHE ATE!!  She ate broccoli, cheese, potatoes, crackers, and a bean!!  It was an answer to prayer and a reminder that GOD is in control of everything and there is nothing too small to pray about.  AND a reward for those reading this entire post...Addie took her FIRST step yesterday!  She should be getting up and going by Christmas.

Home Cooking

I had the privilege of learning how to make cinnamon rolls from scratch from a wonderful lady in our church.  My friend Tammy came too but she became the official Addie-holder during the lesson.  I have already made my first batch of rolls, and they were great!  I feel so Martha Stewart-ish except for the whole jail time experience.

Piano Time

During Nana's last visit, Addie got a piano lesson.  I don't think it sounded bad just because the piano needs tuning if you get my point.  Maybe Nana can teach her how to play one day.

New Bow

Look at my new bow and outfit.  Carla couldn't wait to give it to me for my birthday, so I have already worn it to church.  And as soon as Mommy irons it, I can wear it again...

Auburn vs. Ole Miss

Auburn was defeated at the Ole Miss game in Oxford this year, but we were able to spend some time with good friends and catch up with old ones.  Addie made the decision that anyone with a cell phone is her friend and that Alice really is as funny as everyone says.  Thanks for a great Saturday everyone and War Eagle anyway!

Cotton Queen

What grandaddy would not be pleased with this picture?  We took Addie out to the farm today to take some pictures in the cotton fields.  Some friends of ours were nice enough to let us take some pictures at their farm and with their tractor.  Addie was not in the best mood, but we managed to take a few cute shots.  Life in the Delta...  Just another day in high cotton.

Her Sunday Morning Outfit

I do not know where in the world she gets these faces, but I say, "Keep em comin'."  Addie was showing off her new outfit her Nana and Aunt Ladetra got for her.  She had learned how to play Patty-Cake, so as you can see Addie is "throwing them in the pan."  She looks so cute sitting in the rocking chair too - it was her Nana's.  I wish everyone could have seen her this morning.

Smile

Look at that smile!  Addie had fun on our latest visit home to Alabama.  We enjoyed getting to see everyone and spend some time with both families.  Thanks to everyone for letting us drop in.  We love you!  (Thanks for the new outfit, Honey.)

Traveling in Style

Addie was so excited to ride in her new car seat that faces forward.  She looks like such a big girl in it.  We thought this would solve all of our troubles while riding in the car, and it has helped some, but she is just not fond of traveling - period.

The Biggest Loser

BRAD WON!!  Brad is officially the "Biggest Loser" at Viking Range Corporation.  After twelve weeks of competition, Brad rose to the top and grabbed a first place finish.  He and nine other men joined together in an attempt to lose the most weight - Brad lost over 39 pounds!!  His percentage of weight loss was almost 18%!  We love you, Brad!!  Congratulations!

This Morning

"I've done it again.  I'm so silly - I cannot keep my pajamas on at night.  I like to wiggle and squirm and pull at least one arm out of my shirt.  What will I do next?"

SwingKid

New Swing!  You should see this girl go...  You can find her swinging almost every afternoon enjoying the nice Fall weather.  She has fallen asleep several times but I try not to take it personally.  Thanks Nana!

War Eagle!

Addie's first Auburn ballgame - YEAH!  She was able to share her first game with her Nana who also experienced her first Auburn game as well.  This game was in Starkville, MS, against Mississippi State, and Addie had a great time!  We left home around lunch time and met up with some friends there to tailgate.  Addie made friends with everyone at the game and provided some entertainment for the crowd since there was not much to watch during the baseball - I mean, football game.  Auburn won 3-2, and we made it home around 11:15 pm.  Please notice Addie's orange bow - custom made and attached with toothpaste.  I fought this idea but I have to admit it was pretty cute.

VANDALIZED

We were utterly vandalized in every sense of the word.  We are loners as Auburn fans in the great state of Mississippi and that statement is true in our church as well.  Not only did our vehicle get trashed in the church parking lot - the security guard claims he didn't see a thing - our child, our own flesh and blood while minding her own business in the church nursery where we feel she is watched out for and loved on - she was dressed in a ridiculous outfit and persuaded to play with a mindless doll dressed in the same fashion.  This all goes hand-in-hand with the garbage we found waving outside our very own home.  These pictures were delivered to us by true scandals.  As a friend of mine said, "It's always the quiet ones you have to watch out for."  Thanks for the fun Robin and Heidi - we want our AU flag back now.

New Pajamas

Attention Attention!  Addie's Nana (my mom) came to visit us today, and she brought Addie her first pair of pajamas.  You know they don't make any that we have found yet for her size.  She looks so sweet and comfy, but she hasn't quite figured out what those things on her arms are...  Winter might be tough!

Time with Carla

Let me introduce you to our MS babysitter - CARLA!!  On Saturday, Brad and I were able to go to the MS State game with some good friends, and Carla offered to keep Addie all day long.  We were so grateful to Carla and to the rest of the family for loving on Addie.  During Addie's stay, she was in the floor playing with some toys and all of a sudden stopped playing and crawled over to her basket (I had packed all her belongings in a laundry basket).  Addie turned the basket over, went through everything in it and pulled out a spoon and then a jar of baby food.  Carla laughed and told her it was not time to eat then she glanced at the tentative schedule I had made for her and sure enough it was the exact time to eat.  Some mock the schedule, but Addie and I like it!
Thank you LARLA!  We love you and the family!

Weekend Extravaganza

We also had surprise guests for the Labor Day weekend!  The LeRoy's came on Saturday and spent some time with us in MS.  We had a great time!  Addie loved seeing family and having constant hugs and kisses and entertainment.  Thanks for coming - we had a great time and miss you already!

This weekend began with Addie's first high school football game
at Pillow Academy, the private school here in Greenwood.
She was a good sport even though it was very hot that night.  "Miss" Amy and "Miss" Dawn held her almost the entire game - we didn't realize babysitters would be provided.  Addie enjoyed clapping at everything, especially the cheerleaders.  Pillow won the game - 54 - 0 - Congrats Coach Fair!

Here is a quick video of Addie crawling.  It is difficult to get her on camera because as soon as she sees the laptop - she heads straight for it.  ENJOY!

Gone Bananas

It's an overcast, lazy Sunday afternoon and I could not ask for better napping weather.  Addie is asleep so the road is paved for me to head to sleepy-town.  I just wanted to post about her "Banana Experience" yesterday while Brad was away.

I gave her a small chunk of banana, and she looked at it - surprised that for once I was actually encouraging her to put something in her mouth.  She took two bites with her cute little teeth, and then decided to squish the rest in the palm of her hand.  The banana did not stand a chance and came goo-ing out between all of her fingers.  Needless to say she refused to eat anymore and from then on enjoyed the sound of squished banana in her hand the rest of meal time.

August 21, 2008

Addie just wanted to show off her jumping skills and her new wave.

Olympics

Addie has been really enjoying the Olympics these days!  She is definitely a Michael Phelps fan, but she also loves Bob Costas!  She could be quite the gymnast with her strong arms and legs...

Addie's Review

Welcome to our blog!  I have finally conformed to everyone's demands to create a blog of our family.  To catch you up on the last 3/4 of a year, here's a quick review.

Addie Kathryn Moreman was born on November 30, 2007.  She was 7 lbs and 8 ounces.  She has truly changed our lives and what a blessing!  Addie is now almost 9 months old and weighs about 20 pounds.  She is pulling up on everything, crawling everywhere, eating Stage 2 food, waving "bye-bye," saying "bye-bye" every now and then, shaking her head when she doesn't want anymore food, and FINALLY sleeping through the night (9 nights in a row so far).

A note about the parents, Brad and I are doing well.  We are adjusting to life with one income.  I became an official stay-at-home mom about 2 months ago, and Brad is busy working at Viking Range Corporation here in MS.  He works as an Industrial Designer for them.

I will update as frequently as I can and post pictures and videos as I figure all this stuff out.
